Can anyone explain what it means exactly?

exapnsion of the same clon... for example a T-cell with same sequence at hypervariable region of its receptor. (like in a specific antigenic response)
Polyclonal expansion... cells expand with many different sequences at hypervariable region (like in superantigen actvation.)

mdwannabe,

expansion of one clone is monoclonal expansion
expansion of more than one line could be either
oligoclonal - and that means more than one clone, but not many (oligo means "few")
or policlonal - and that means "many"

Alina :-) U are absolutely correct... I was only trying to simplify. But I definitely should stand correct in my corner for oversimplifying :-)
