Hi everyone,
I'm new here. 
I'd like to ask some questions about working in my eras.
1. About the "Profile"
- On the last question "Do you have an ECFMG Certificate?"; If I'll take my CS on late August and I'll get my result on Oct, do I have to answer "no" now or I should wait to say "yes" until I get the ECFMG certificate?
2. How long the PS should be?
I mean, how many pages do you guys wrote in average ?
Is there anyone wrote maximum 8 pages? 
3. If I want to go for IM, Do you think all my Lor's writers should be IM? or some can be in other field but have a good attitude on me?

1. You CANNOT say yes before you have it. So, you must say NO. Otherwise, you misrepresent the truth in front of official body (ECFMF/AAMC) which is a felony. However, you can say yes but not submit your CAF before you know you passed CS and became eligible for ECFMG certification. You are given an option to say that you are waining for results of CS. The rest is clear.
2. Usually PS is about one page (standard margins, font times new roman #12). You may write at as long as you can, but remember that PDs have to read hundreds of PS, and your one will not be read to the end for sure if it is long and boring.
3. It's OK to have LOR from any practicing MD even if he is from another field. Just ask him to state that he writes on your behalf for your application for IM residency.

if I won't submit to my CAF until Oct, is that possible?
Will there be any problem if I don't finish working on myERAS before 1 Sep?

Yes, it is possible. And no problems are associated with this. But I hope you realize that this means that you do not apply to programs, because in order to apply to programs you have to submit your CAF first, and no changes can be made afterwards.

When I get the ECFMG certificate, how could I let the programs know about this?

If you apply without ECFMG certificate, and if you choose automatic transmission of your USMLE certificate, than it will be done by the system. You don't' need to worry about it.

How do I choose the automatic transmission of my cert? I haven't come across that option on myERAS yet.
