Hi,

Do programs want to see the Step 2 scores before they call for an interview?

How important is Step 2CS for getting an interview... do programs want to see the Step 2CS score as well?
if I have my Step 2CK in september can Step 2CS wait?

thanks.

It seems my post should have had something irritating as the title then many people would get riled up and start posting something, like they do on the radio and people start calling in.

hi whattodo, you can apply with as little as step 1 scores alone; however, you will obviously be at a disadvantage compared to those with step 2ck and cs. Some programs even insist that you have to be ecfmg certified before applying...so your question is a relative one and actually depends on the individual program, but you can definitely apply with at least 1 result.

Hi, Does anyone have any idea as to the lowest CK score I can have and still get a preliminary spot. I have a 94 on step 1. But am doing really bad on Step 2CK NBMEs and I have exam coming up in three weeks and I got 183 on the NBME 2. What is the lowest that I should have for preliminary surgery?

some programs talk about minimum scores of 80 or 85, but as an IMG, i think a pretty safe score wld be at least 90 though this is not absolute as your score is just one part of the whole application. average scores with an excellent CV may do you as much good or even better than stellar scores and a bleak resume...and of course, we have the interview itself...
