I failed step 1, i know that i still have to take step 2 and 3 in the future. i spent a lot of time preparing for step 1 already. so i am just wondering how is step 2 and 3 comparing to step 1? do people also have to spend a lot of time preparing for that? do most people take courses for step 2 and 3?

In my experience, Step 1 is more difficult to study for cause it covers more material but Step 2 is the more difficult exam...anybody agree?

for IMGs, the problem is always getting along the molecular level of understanding step1 so it seems to be tougher, step2 also is tough because it does not matter what u know, the key is how to use what to know in the order of the current guidline, which is agin something we are not used to..but over all to answer ur Q, once u get done with step 1 , u have the way paved, to put less effort in step 2 the formula that one of my friends love to use is step1 = a lot of study + some Qs step2 = little study + tones of Qs step3 = it doesnt matter, its ur global knoweldge , what u aquired and retained from step 1 and 2

step 2 def easier bc it is more clinical, and more albe to relate with, step 1 is just so many details, so if done backwards like i did, it is possible, u have to decide what u are willing to do, either exam is tough, but i feel stp 1 mroe touigh! good luck

and step 3 can be important if u have scored low on other 2 exams, can compensate for lower step 1 and 2, be careful, u just dont wantto fail u know!!!

thank you all for the wonderful messages. I sometimes get scared just thinking about it, if I am already spending so much time on preparing on step 1, how much more time will I have to spend on step 2 and 3, that will take forever! I start to wonder if this is really worth it. Now i feel a little more confident, I will take it one step at a time.
