nodHello everybody
I am a silent member in this forum
first of all, pardon me for some poor english writing wink

Background:
I finished MD in 2004 from a mecial school in Thailand
I have worked full time as a junior faculty in Department of Family Medicine since 2007.

last year, I took TOEFL IBT 2 times and..I failed both
that made me lost confidence and tought I am not suitable for study aboard
However, I really hope to improve my knowledge for my beloved student.

My preparation:
6 months, concentrate in last 3 months
full time work, study time average 3-4 hrs per day

material I used ( Thank you for Prep4USMLE give me good track)
- FA 2007 edition, I read it parallel with UW and other book, not cover to cover.
- Kaplan note for Biochemistry (2 times), Physiology,Pharm,Behavioral science
- Goljan audio for general pathology
- BRS for systemic pathology with pictures in Robbin's
- Levinson's Medical microbiology and immunology
- UW all in timed random unused, average 59
- NBME from 1 (1 mo before exam): 480
NBME from 5 (1 day before exam): 470 smiling face

My pitfall:
-For Goljan Audio, Due to I feel difficult to listen english so I listen him at last month..would be nice if I decide to listen him before start study.
- I start UW too early, in time that I did't finish books that made me hard to get main idea.
- I try to short note in mind map style in initial but I feel not work. USMLE need big
picture and main concept.
- I have no chance to review FA from cover to cover.

In examination day:18th june 2008
- one day before exam, let it free day, take meditation and have nice sleep.
- I prepare chocolat bars, Sandwich,green tea and B1-6-12
- I break every block to eat something nod for 3-5 minutes and take lunch 10 min
with a sandwich

Examination
new model 336 items/48 X 7 blocks , 1 video

Anatomy: most are neuroanatomy& branchial plexus, I have no embryo.
Biochem : most about nutrition/alcohol, few for enzyme def.
few of clueless laboratory issue.
Behavioral science: biostat about sens/spec , typeI typeII error
doctor-patient,public health..I assume they are easy for AMG,but
doubtfull for IMG like me.
Microbiology: most clinical related, mode of transmission
General pathology : so deep! Inflamatory cytokine, oncogene
Systemic pathology: clinical cases that not too difficult for postgrad
Pharmacology: emphasize on drug interaction/side effect
Physiology : cardio & hormone ( PTH,ACTH,LH/FSH) are big issue.

After examination.
I feel blur and don't sure in many items
I know only wrong answer for strength forward question.shaking head
However, I was happy to finish task regardless score.

Waiting for result : 4 weeks , report in OASIS website
score report: 16 july 9 am US ; 9 pm Thailand
very good time
my boyfriend hug me in time we are waiting for result appear..5-4-3-2-1...
Pass-226 -94
well done in Cardiology,GI,Hemato,Neuro
not good in Behavioral science, Genetic, Respiratory.

Thank you very much for Prep4USMLE and great peaple here.

Thank you for skamran, defcon8 and usmlekiller smiling face

Yes, dowjunk , I totally agree with you that English skill is very important. I heard many
Asian students failed in CS after NBME increase score in communication skill. I plan to improve it with DVD ER series ( ha ha)

Toledo, I think it is diffent in the kind of work. I have a question, where do you work?
.....one of my role in faculty is a teacher. so I use this opportunity to review USMLE materials with my medical students sometime. On the otherhand if you have a chance to help your junior medical students review in study, please do so. It will help you understand in dept of that material
.....last thing, I reccomend to wake up early and use 1-2 hours before go to work this time my brain is fresh - so I used to take 50 UW exam everyday. And before go to bed to review the mistake I made in the morning...I suppose brain need duration to organize and recall.
I believe you can do that wink
