Hi everyone, Here is my wife's experience Graduated in 2007 September. Score repoted on 16 July for STEP 1: 240/99 Exam date: 23 June 2008 Prep. time: about 6 months I've studied mostly from Kaplan books (2006 edition+video) except for Neuroanatomy ( studied from High Yield) and Pathology (Goljan's new book 2006 edition + audio+pathology atlas of KLATT). Also used Microbiology and Pharmacology cards. Question books: UW: 65% ( finished 1 month before the exam) Kaplan Qbank: 72% (except for pathology questions- didn,t do that) Q&A: 66% ( finished 2 mo before exam) Tests: NBME2: 214 - 2.5 mo before exam NBME3:228 - 1 mo before NBME: 236 - 5 days before UW self assessment: 248 - 7 days before Good luck to everybody !!!!

Thanks for your kind remarks. Klatt helped...I think I even had some path images from Klatt, or at least very similar (and I only had a few images overall). By the way...I should have mentioned it, but I had the new format exam (48 questions/block) with two media questions/exam (one audio-heart auscultation and a Rx). I only read Kaplan Beh, but I learned a lot from doing questions!!!! Did not read anything else (e.g., psychiatry or statistics, etc).

I forgot to say about FA: I had the 2008 edition and it was really really helpfull !!!!!! I spent 2 weeks only on it 2 months before the exam and while resolving UW and Qbank I added information on FA ... that helped me a lot in the last 2 weeks; actually FA was the only thing I read during last 2 weeks .... so don't forget about FA !!!!!!!

Hi drsergiu! Congrats on your great score! Would be enough if i do only UW twice or 3 times, and not do Kaplan bank at all? Or should i do both? How many times did you read Kaplan notes? Do you recommend Kaplan for all subjects(some people say that Micro, Physio is not worth wasting time on Kaplan notes)? Thank you very much!

Hi Abummeis, Goljan Reapid Reviews is a book that you can buy (e.g., amazon)...nicely written...more complete (and "cleaner") than the lecture notes.

Hei Astana, I believe it is important that you expose yourself to as many questions as possible. I can't advice you directly, because I don't know what's your level of prep. I used Kaplan for all subjects, except for Pathology. They are not the best in all subjetcs, but I preffered keeping the same source and learning (more actively) new things by doing questions. I hope it helps.
