Id like some suggestions. Ive got my exam in about 2 weeks time,(step 1).My prep is not finished yet, unlikely to finish by then I had hoped to take part in the Match this year, so had scheduled it for late July. I dont want to go with just passing marks or go flunk the exam either. Should i just go ahead anyway, and hope for the best? (But knowing that the number of attempts you do your exams in is counted against you too) or just forget the match this year and delay the exam and prepare for Step 3 and try in the match next year? I really dont want to waste the 2009 match, but dont want a bad score either So please give me some suggestions here. Thanks

hmnnn..... my personal opinion.... delay the exam.... keep studying, then take nbme to see where you stand as far as scoring goes.... go for match 2010 as its better to have good scores rather than various attempts on steps.... good luck and hang in there!

Take an NBME and if you score 500+ then you are ready, if not then request an extension. Just my measy two cents.
