Two weeks will be enough but you have to work very hard, You have to be in the Hospital at 5:30 or 6:00 am, follow up your patients, read the labs and review your patients disease processes in up-to date, then impress your attending with a case presentations early in your USCE and be pro-active. Try to be in charge of interesting cases and if possible present the case in the Resident Conferences. Try to be on call frequentely therefore you will have more new patients to be on charge. You will nail it, your main goal is to get LoRs. Worry about this when the time comes, now focus on your ck Have a good day!

My God,Ivonne, UpToDate is bloody expensive!! Do IMGs actually subscribe to it during observerships? I was shocked to see their rates! Here's the link: https://www.uptodate.com/home/store/subscriptionO... Thanks for your encouragement, dear Ivonne. Your timing's perfect!

i got it for free at that time. All the computers inside of the Hospital and specially in the library had up-to-date for free. It probably depends on the Program.

Oh, you meant at the hospital. Ok. So I should try and utilise any free time at a computer in the lib etc. Gotcha, thanks!

Yes, it's a lot. The good thing is that you see the benefits from it. That doesn't happen in a lot of countries...

In MSPE, does my AAMC ID need to be metioned? Also, how is it to be addressed? Coz I'm not able to explain the format exactly to my school. Should I settle for something like 'Dear Prog Dir'? or what else? Thanks.

I have a doubt about graduation cut off criteria with some programs , if they say it is 5 yr does that mean 2003 graduates are not eligible to apply this sept 2008 considering this is the 5th year ? Anyone with any idea on the matter

But when you send it to ERAS, you need to mention it on the front or back of your MSPE along with your name. Here's the proper format for Mspe, if your med school is ready to do it for you this way..

Hi guys, Joining in for the first time on the thread and there seems to be a lot of interesting discussion already. Here are my two bits about what might be important in considering the credentials of a candidate in decreasing order. 1. Visa status 2. US Experience 3. US LORS 4. Work Experience 5. Usmle scores 6. Publications 7. Research I just had a look at the Nrmp report of 2008 match and the percentage of Imgs seems to be falling dramatically from 55% to 42%. Is this because of more number of people applying or less no of Imgs getting selected as compared to american graduates? What do u guys think....

Medical School Transcripts : ECFMG says do not submit original transcripts. Does that mean I can myself take a copy of my transcripts and send it to ERAS? Is it that simple?

yeah, ERAS accepts copies of your transcripts but ECFMG will request originals of transcripts from your school when your final diploma copy is sent for verification by your school.
