Light directed into a patient’s right eye results in constriction of the right pupil, but not the left pupil. Light directed to the left eye results in constriction of the right, but not the left pupil. Which of the following structures on the left is the most likely site of a lesion?

A) Lateral geniculate nucleus
B) Oculomotor nerve
C) Optic tract
D) Pretectal area
E) Superior cervical ganglion

I think it is B

  #3

B) Oculomotor nerve

B is correct.

The oculomotor nerve carries the parasympathetics of the Edinger nucleus and any compression of the 3rd nerve would cause a defect in the autonomic responses/reflexes as described in the question.

but the same eye does constrict, so the oculomotor cant be damaged.

  #6

The right oculomoter constricts not the left. This indicates the left optic is fine but not the left oculomotor.
