wow....its done with.
was easier than uw......that is if u read and assimilate all of uw
would say 30% easier....the choices were easy to make out...i mean not much confusion between 2 answers..
will write more in detail after i recover from my brain sprains
thanks all for the tips i have been seeing this forum for a long time

ok here I am fresh again.
read-1.Kaplan LN
2.Kap Q book
3.UW 2 month ----did nicely only last 25 days---10 hr/day ended it once only but witth my own note......great reward 4 doing so.....felt good on seeiin the exam Q .
i am typing this n having lunc so will b slow

About the exam-
really covered wide array of topics nothing out of this world......not too trick either,choices were not very confusing ...made the answer stan out if one had read the topic.
Mostly Int med=55 to 60 %
Then surg....all trauma and git
Then O/G-----hardly any nsurprises all bleeds n infertility and pain synds...usuall
Then Peds----very basic stuff
lastly my fav but unfortunately very small no of Q fm Psych and ethics=8-9
Biostats=6-7 really basic q ppv,npv,sensit,specificity----formulae base calculation...easy stuff

OK WHAT I FEEL NOW ABOUT THIS TEST
1.It wants to get decent drs to usa...not below avg ones------dont need to be genius or some thing.....clinical exp gives an edge definitely
2.Its is not a tricky or flashy question oriented exam...wants u to be able to think like a good prim care dr
3.Not at all aimed at depressing u ....quest are very logical n so r the choices
4.I read--Kaplan 3 times last 2 readings in 25 days ---each book in 1 day--10-12 hrs...i dont know how i managed that many hrs....ok by the way i had read kapl ln once earlier about 4 mont -6 mnths ago.....but got serious only once i left my job and sat at home for 1month.postponed exam once by 7 days....wise call helped with completing uw once. got 60 % overall tutor+timed..did my own notes on uw...able to revive those notes3/4 only 1 time..still the act of writing helps me focus n inscribes the topics in my memory......i dont know if it is same with all..cant be as GoD HAS different ver of windows installed in each of our brains....so choose ur own strategy

Ideal way I feel is
1.kap books-reading no1.[be fast,no need to do phd on each quest...dont search in harrison or cmdt...not needed...that will be low yield
2.Then get UW do for 2 months at least 70 q daily wit expl....lot of ways to go about it----like do timed and the go thru all answers...make notes..very brief...never make notes of what u know,do tutorial mode on some days,when time is short and lot of questions left do what i did......in 2 days i did all timed q. 8 bloks of 46 q each thats a lot of quests and lof of butt ache so get a good chair n cushion for ur butt....saw expl of only ones i got wrong.. ok? after uw ended I went back to KAPLN and did very rapid speed reads of all topics stressing more on what i felt i was not remembering well enough.Then I did my uw notes...was not able to revise uw q again...but notes were good too for recall of imp fact
4.UW and kaplan know wht mle is about the tell us what toi read and how much time to give to each subject
5.Time to be given to each subject is to be decided by seeing the size of kaplan ln for each subj and no of Q in that subj given in UW,eg kap med id 350+ pages ...so get most of ur time......this is very imp tip.
6.The mle people want u to know most commons eg mc bacteria,mc cause for pul emboli....so what happens is to a less prepared guy it will seem that q is vauge and has no clue to diag....but if you know things like most common etio,age,complication,clinical presentation....then magically u will see the answer rt in the q....in mle ther r simly no so called vauge or hintless questions......no one told me this but i figured it out in first block itself...ended it with 7 min to spare...helped increase my breaks time

psychlogical aspects of this test-
very long test....must be used to working with high con for ling hours...i feel in exam our focus goes up
during prep...one needs to be pumped up..all the time is not possible...most of the time n on most days is posiible.have a way to do so...u are all drs so ur all good students and need to just follow ur own study routines
key is to do what athletes do so easily...set up written rituals for a perfect study day n follow it day after day.
mine was 6 hr sleep at night ,got up 10 am ...music 30 min,few motivational slides on youtube,saw my to do list for the day which i always made at bed time...n had cofee....dn to studies...stuied best in sessions of 50-60 min with a break of 5-7 min....sometime longer like 1/2 hr or so
have written goal.....most imp step....may not follow it to the minute but sure keeps speed up
i used music to get me going...got up n listened to few motivational traks rock basically n only 1 hip hop song by DMX lord give me a sign...search it on youtube
so what happened after few days is that just listening to those songs on my ipod got me in a great frame of mind for my study session.......it is sort of anchoring i have done since my MBBS days
ok sunshine..i love sunshine ......its very imp to go out for 1hr daily in the sun 4 me so did that with my daughter ...used to pick my camera n go to a nearby park n click a few snaps of her n folwers n got all the sunshine i needed to feel alive and good...

about the breaks -
lots of time took break after each block never saw the clock just went to the toilet,had 4-6 sips of pepsi,couple of biscuits,abd went in back.only after 4-5 blcks took a longer break about 20 min had fruits for lunch and went in again.by the time exam was over so was a litre of pepsi...i have a sort of iatrogenic respone to pepsi....gets me ultra vigilant and improves concentration.........may be red bull does it 4 some.....i am allergic to red bull sneeze a lot after it so carried pepsi
