Hi, I´m from Brazil and planning to do radiology residency in USA. Nowadays I work with 3 different projects: Informatics and Medicine, at Duke University and Neurosurgery league. Some publications on the way. I wonder how is the process to a foreigner get into the Radiology residency since it is one of the most wanted as here in Brazil. If there is any area into Radiology ( researcher ) that would be also good to work with. I´d like to have contact with someone who knows someone into this process. Tell me...Is it THAT HARD as people says?! Thank you very much, Best regards from Brazil

My close friend, who is a PC for a large radiology program, will tell you that it's very hard for an AMG, even harder for an IMG. Scores must be way above average. Research is very important. Best of luck.

Thanks for answering me! That was very nice of you Would you tell me how much an AMG gets as a score to get into Radiology residency? Is there any other specialization compatible with Radiology in USA? DO you recommend Internal Medicine first or any other residency here in Brazil first? Thanks a lot  Greetings, vivisk

I have a friend who's doing Radiology in Boston (Beth Israel). But he had 1 year of internship in Surgery and then was invited to the program. Obviously he has 99/99. VERY VERY difficult to get a spot in Radiology nowadays, even for AMGs. lf

Over 90's if you can get in as an IMG (sorry, but it's very true). The last IMG in this particular program was over 4 years ago. Although there is an American board Caribbean trained person who worked as a Radiology Tech for the hospital, went to school in the Caribb, received scores in the mid 90's and is currently in their first year of radiology. Good luck

Hey Fernanda! That is really great, thank you very much! I´m about to read your e-mail and I´ll reply as soon as I can,ok? I do know that Radiology outside is complicated to get into, as it is here in Brazil, but let´s see how it goes till 2 years... Does anyone know any Radiology service that pays more attention to researches ? Yes, never give up and faith are my last name! :P Best regards, Vivisk

Hi I am an IMG doing radiology residency in the UK. I am planning to do Radiology fellowship in US. Can anyone tell me are there any fellowships that dont need USMLE. If anyone can give me information as to where I can get this information it will avoid me taking USMLE. Thanks vismam
