i rushed through the tutoria, which added about 10 minutes to my break time...u can always skip it and add 15 minutes to your total break time...if u want, you can review the tutorial on the sample cd from the usmle. i took 5-7 minutes after every block to use the bathroom and eat a small snack, and i took 15 minutes for lunch. i ended up not having enough time to take a last break after the 6th block, so i sat at my computer for 2 minutes and then started the last block. i thought it was a good idea to take a bathroom break after every block because with the stress of exam day and the caffeine, i knew i would have to go...the worst thing would be if u had to go in the middle of a block. well, good luck to u!

My experience: 5 min each after the 1st and 2nd block 20 min lunch break after the 3rd 5 min each after the 4, 5, 6th In fact, I took longer than 5 min coz I had to sign in/out each time and I couldn't really keep track of the time (the clock was in proctors' office)! I didn't skip the tutorial at the very begining and wasted 1-2 min. At the end I was actually several seconds short. Luckily it wasn't a big deal.

yousefreda, here is the information that i find at the beginning of Kaplan Qbook: "Our recomended scheduled for the exam is: Block 1------------------------No break Block 2------------------------5-minute break Block 3-------------------------5-minute break Block 4--------------------------30-minute lunch break Block 5--------------------------No break Block 6-------------------------10 minute break Block 7-------------------------Done! **You should be aware that if u leave the exam room during a block, it will be marked as an irregularity in your testing session."

josef reda whats goin on playa. dude for me the total break was 1 hour including the 15 min tutorial. so i dont know if they added extra break time...since the new exam format came out. but anyways..this is how i did my breaks. block 1> 10 min break block 2> 10 min break block 3 and 4> 20 min break block 5> 10 min break block 6>10 min break block 7. personally i didnt want too long of a break time..cause i know it would make me more nervous, and plus you dont even feel like eating much..i just had granola bar, banana, and gatorade. I ate granola bar everyother break...not because i was hungry ...but to keep my system going. you are not supposed to have anything in your mouth during testing..but the ppl at my center were good...so i got away with eating candy and gum...i also brought a can of red bull..just to be safe incase i needed it..but didnt end drinking it. anyways..when is your exam...hurry up and get your 99...and head over to CHI town.
