.The hallmark of mesenteric ischemia is pain out of proportion to physical exam findings. Mesenteric ischemia is especially likely in a patient with known vascular disease and a history of cigarette smoking. The next diagnostic step is a mesenteric angiogram. The superior mesenteric artery is the most often compromised vessel.

But arent we suppose to do surgery right away? or are we suppose to do the angiogram first?

As a general rule, the better it felt when you said it, the more trouble it's going to get you into.

as in any medical emrgency usually these pt are shocked from the excessive vomiting or from septic should secondary to perotinitis . so if the conditon of the pt was stable u can do angiograme otherwise open
