Hi everyone..How is it going with u?
Thanks to God,I have finished my test 2day 8/July..preparation and test stress has gone to be repalced with the result worry
I think no one can predict his/her result once it`s over,and so am I...But I dont know why I`m not sure of passing Especially if u know that I have fallen in 2 big mistakes:1st is lack of sleep during night b4 the test(due to some out-of-hands circumstances I could manage only half an hour of sleep ...2nd is not well practising for timed mode;I used to go through tutour mode of UW(so I couldnt catch ab 10 questions cuz I ran out of time .....Despite what happened I`m happy that I did it
So,I think it`s not useful to talk ab my prep plan b4 the result comes up..ofcourse I`ll tell every detail when I get the score report whatever it`d be.
Now I like to tell ab some points that I learnt form the test 2day(ofcourse it`s just a point of view):
1-STEP2-CK IS A TEST OF CLINICAL BASICS(i.e.not caring much ab tiny details)...try to digest them well
2-IT`S NOT A MONSTER...I think it`s a very fair test
3-IT DOESNT DEPEND AT ALL ON STEP-1..i.e.NOT TAKING STEP-1 IS NOT A RISK IN APPEARING FOR CK FIRST.
ofcourse there is a lot I`d like to tell u ab the test structure itself,but give me some time to write this in an organized manner for u

Hi Egy my friend,
I will pray that the questions you missed were ALL "TRIAL or DIANOSTIC" questions
and also good luck for your score and I really like the way you feel... because there is nothing you can change now so try to be happy for what you did and you deserve the best....
I will wait for your detailed experience(my exam is on AUG 5th)....

Congrats on getting through the exam! I guess we both had a problem with sleep. Hopefully, both of us will get through the exam with great scores.

as u said before, taking the exam is an achievement itself. relax now. u dont know what will happen in the results.

Let me talk a little bit ab the exam itself....
*as u know most of the questions(I can say 80%)were IM....most of the remaning was spych.
*It was a mixture of long and short questions making it easy to do all ur blocks in time
*also it`s a mixture of very esay and little difficult questions...easy question is that one that helps u answer even if u havnt studied a word...on the other hand,difficult questions need time for thinking with very few (or may be none)obvious clues....the rest of questions were ranging inbetween those 2 extremes of difficulty levels.
*when I studied Psych and did it from UW,i found it easygoing..but PSYCH questions were not esay and the description of cases didnt help me much get what it was talking ab.
*SURGERY questions were not a problem at all,and so were those of OBGYN.
*I got very few questions ab develomental milestones and immune disorders from PEDIATRICS..but unforunately they were not direct ones.
*I was sad that STASTISTICS questions were of that little number..I was waiting for them from time to time..very easy stuff.

I have to agree with you on the statistics. I was waiting for it and I got one question in my 2nd last block. I spent way too much time on it while studying.

Let`s continue........
*The common thing in most of questions is that u have more than one reasonable answer;I had to make educated guess between 2 or 3 answers many times.
*Most of time they ask ab the most apprporiate diagnosis and the best initial step in management.....also the ask but more less frequent about therapies,causes and mechanisms.
*As I said b4,doing step-1 is not a must for taking CK at all..Also U dont need to read any of step-1 notes...ofcourse there are some questions(although they r very few) about some points that may look like pure step-1 stuff,such as "what is the nerve injured?","what is the brain area affected?"..BUT U already read ab this in step2-ck sources like kaplan and UW.

how frequent and difficult are they?

Hi godfather..how is ur prep?
For me,I got ab 2 of each EKG and Murmur stuff...But I cant tell how difficult they were,this is simply because I`m so weak in these areas and didnt know well what they were about
Dont worry..Just try to prepare for these things..and most of time u`ll be able to get the answer by just reading the question...some ppl say that not me

Hi i've been a very silent reader of the forum...i have taken my exam yesterday and am going through the ' depression' phase now....egyusmler , white-rose all the best to both of u for good results..and of course good luck to every one who is going to take ck or is waiting for results....
And for all those going to take exams...just keep yourself well hydrated and manage your time well...you'll have done a good job studying hard so just face the exam head on with confidence...its easy to write all this after an exam...
Now all i can do is pray for good results...To all of u in the forum pray for me too...i need all the prayers to get through thiis phase...

do u thing that preparing for audios are useful from the point of cost benefit to as they happen at a frequency of 2-3 every exam?

This is why I didnt spend time learning them.....But ofcourse It`s ideal to appear for the test with full prep.
