1) can u apply to 2 specialities at a time, for eg. internal medicine and pediatrics.Are there any drawbacks if ones applies to 2 specialities at a time. Just make certain that you have the correct personal statement sent to the correct program. We had several candidates this year who had personal statements that were for surgery or emergency medicine - so we knew that they were just shopping for a residency - they didn't care which.
2) Can the prelimnary year required for various specialities be done in transitional year, internal medicine or family practice. Yes for transitional year and internal medicine. I don't know the answer for family practice (I don't think so, but I'm not 100% on that).
3)Last question: will i have to apply for the prelim year and the PGY2 yr at the same time.I am planning to apply for the 2005 match.. I think that will depend on what you are applying for. Good luck
