During DNA replication in eukaryotic cells, which of the following occurs when topoismerase I cleaves a phosphodiester bond in one DNA strand? A) Free rotation of the two sections of the DNA helix on either side of the nick B) A recombination event between adjacent double helices C) Removal and subsequent transfer of a small piece of DNA to another position on the chromosome D) Removal of mismatched nucleotides that could result in deleterious mutations

A) I believe topoisomerase I makes one nick and Topisomerase II makes a double nick in the DNA both for the same function of decreasing super coiling of DNA
