Which of the following cellular junctions blocks the backflow of glucose from the basal side of the intestinal epithelium into the lumen of the gut?

The answer is E.

Tight junctions are found on the apical surface and prevent backflow of material back into the cell.
Hemidesmosomes are found on the basal surface towards the blood.

Reading the question again it just sounds funny to me.
