Some tips (recently discovered in collaboration with anoop bhai ) - Book early - Fare is less if your dates are flexible - Check the fares for your trips from different websites, and then go to the selected airline's website, to check out there fares and promotions Anyone who has more tips on the topic is welcome!

and about buses and trains: I read just a few minutes back on a website that they are good option if the distance is short... otherwise, if the route is a long one, it is expensive to travel by trains (or atleast equal to air travel, if not expensive)... and it wastes a long time... buses are cheap, but tiresome for long journeys... See here: http://www.usatourist.com/english/tips/travel.htm... For a full list of airlines in America see this page: http://www.kls2.com/airlines/n-america.html

more info, although trains and buses have long journeys, but if u plan in advance, then the time factor won't be a problem, and if u buy passes, then surely trains can be much cheaper than flights. Check this pag out for more details about Amtrak rail system in the US http://tickets.amtrak.com/itd/amtrak/selectpass
