IMG...GRADUATED IN DECEMBER 2007
STARTED STUDYING....1ST OF JANUARY 2008
TOOK THE TEST ON....3RD OF JULY
MATERIALS USED..KAPLAN LECTURE NOTES FOR EVERY SUBJECT EXCEPT PATHO FOR WHICH I DID BRS ALONG WITH GOLJAN AUDIOS
now the detail...i started with kaplan lecture notes n finished my first read in exactly 6 weeks n then took a break for 2 days n started my second read alongside questions doing 100 questions in the day of uworld n 100 kaplan questions in the evening n in between did my second read again doing this took me exactly 6 weeks....took nbme 1 n got 480 n a day later did nbme 2 got 450..so then started my third read n gave it 30 days n i disposed kap q bank n did uworld questions as a source of study by that i mean that i took note of every single uworld question..this took me 30 days n alongside i read first aid twice...this took me to end of april...then i took nbme 3 got a 610 n nbme 4 got a 510..again revised lecture notes once again in 15days n took notes of things i thought i would forget after a while n then shelved lecture notes...then for the next 15 days i did goljan high yield 36 46 n 100 pages plus a lot of ethics cts mris..n took nbme 5 on 1st of june n got 540...extended my date which was originally 18th of june to 3rd of july...then just kept on revising cts mris first aid uworld notes n took the test on 3rd which was just unbelievably hard..guys this is my test breakdown n u l b amazed..
ANATOMY...ABT 60QUESTIONS
BIOCHEMISTRY N GENETICS...ABT 40 QUESTIONS
MICRO N IMMUNO...SURELY MORE THAN 60 QUESTIONS
PHARMA THE MOST OF ALL...ABT 80 QUESTIONS
BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES N STATS...ABT 50 QUESTIONS
N PATHO N PHYSIO...just abt 40 questions
so i l advice everybody to do every subject equally u dont know what kind of test u l get..i gt bk home n checked abt 250 questions n i am so depressed that i have got just 205 rite out of them till now...45 mistakes...i am really worried that i will fail but do pray for me guys...any questions i l be more than happy to answer

Hey Ali,

About the Pharm questions, can you give an idea how they wee asked? Mechanism of action, what disease they were used to treat? Straight forward or very tricky? The micro/immuno questions, was there a lot gram positive blah blah blah, or disease presentation then diagnosis?

thanks alot skamaran usmlekiller...speaksoftly abt the pharma questions they were very very easy most of them were absolutely no brainers so dont worry abt them just make sure u learn first aid pharma really well plus anti obesity drugs from wiki online

hi ali !!
i did nbme 6 yesterday n i scored 460 !!i m tired of this prep !!i don t want to delay it further !!i really want to touch 90 !!i ve got 10 days wat do u suggest how i shd utilize these 10 days !!do u think postponing exam helps !!
i want to try for 2009 match !!

just revise first aid n uworld in these 10 days n u l be fine for sure...delaying the exam doesnt help that much so dont do that
