Can any body let me know whether deans letter and MSPE are the same or different. Do we need to send the ERAS both or any one,

If you have one, you cannot have another...
Send to ecfmg whichever you have... they have no preferences...
When prepare DSF, say that you send MSPE even if you send Dean's letter...

Now My med school gives us only one page long MSPE which is not in the proper format as described on the ERAS website. But, at the same time, they dont mind giving a Dean's letter as well.. Can i send both? ( both together counting as MSPE?)

Hitesh,
I am not sure if ECFMG can upload both since there is only one selection option for you when you assign docs to programs. If you think that one document is better than the other in terms of info about you, your study achievements. etc, send this the only document and name it MSPE on DSF... Do not send both - don't make ECFMG confused, and don't make yourself worried about which document you will be sending to programs...

Thanks for the reply. I guess, I'll get both documents and then decide.. Also, will try and find out what other people from my med school have been doing..
