Hi,
i am hoping to be ECFMG certifed somewhere in october(if i pass the CS..) Cani still apply for and give the step 3 exam in november/december.
I am confused becoz it says in the website that the deadline for 2008 application is sep 5...
Please clarify

Hey sadiq,
Wanted to update.. been doing some more reading on this.. i thing the 2009 cycle starts from Nov1 2008. so we can apply in october/november and give exams by 2008 end itself.. hope this helps...

If you want to give the exam before october end you must apply by sep5 which is the last day to apply for the 2008 cycle. from 3rd week of september the applications for 2009 season can be sent.. if you apply for the 2009 season, then you can give your exam anytime after nov 1 2008.

Well it depends on when u want the step3 results.... when you are applying or later in the course of the residency season...
As far as visa issues are concerned for H1 i guess its good if you can have your exam done by december or latest by january.....

Prusiner, Thanx a lot for great info......I am going to participate in 2009 match, so as per your advice, it would be good that I take exam by september end, right ?.......so that I can have my result in October or November........

If it is possible for you to take the exam then yes... but if there are other more important things to do/ you are not yet ready for the exam, then you can take it in nov/dec too... it wont make a very big difference... the most important thing i guess is to be fully ready for the exams when you take it

if u get u r results on october then u will be able to get enrolled on 2009 season starting on november 2009 and score reporting takes much time i guess so:
