first initial test? the next managment? differential between partial complex and absence seizure?

partial complex seizure best initial step is to get an eye witness history then EEG with hyperventillation to rule out absence seizure in history, there will be altered conciousness, there may be post ictal confusion. in absence seizures, EEG shows slow spike potentials of 3 Hz on hypervent, sleep, phototic stimulation. while nothing as written above

I think in addition to the history and the specific tests for the epilepsy, one should also get blood glucose, electrolytes and rule out CNS infections.Then proceed to the tests for epilepsy..as mentioned already
