What bill is under consideration? College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario does recognize it but its for after traning when one wishes to return to Canada thats what I understood. Even though to practise there you need to have passed MCCEE.

agree with oldkidontheblock that usmle is valid when you return to canada after doing your residency in USA(mexico is excluded) and you still have to pass the licensing board exam to get the license to practice in ontario. and this i believe is only for family practice and not for the other specialities, this is how i understood it.

a new bill was supposed to be passed very soon which hinted at some new changes to make it easier for international medical graduates in canada(which i find hard to believe) but i dont know the details of the bill. if i do find out i will post it here.

The MCC exams can't be taken in any sequence. The EE comes first, followed by the QE1 and QE2. The syllabus for all the MCC exams is the clinical subs - Medicine, Surgery, OBGYN, Pediatrics, Psych and Canadian ethics. The EE is similiar to Step two CK and is easier than CK (in my opinion). Once you pass the EE the result is valid for life - so you won't have to write it again. You're eligible for QE1 if you pass EE. Qe2 on the other hand requires a few months (either 12 or 18) of clinical experience.

The EE consists of 300 or so MCQs spread out over two sessions on a single day. The QE1 consists of a morning session with MCQs and an afternoon session of short answer type questions.

You can get all the info on www.mcc.ca If you intend on writing the Canadian exams then I would suggest writing them when you're doing CK - there's a lot of overlap.

Let me know if you've got anymore questions. Good luck.
