Last year i was giving my steps ,applied very late ( Nov) after getting certified...got one call ...but did not attend the interview due to some personal reasons ...last year when i used to read posts with people mentioning their scores ,visa status, year of grad...and ask their chances of getting into residency ....i used to think ...why do they do that?? ...i mean how can anyone know what their chances are ???...but now when i wait eagerly to start applying this year ...i understand the anxiety...and what i feel is that when no one can surely tell you whether you will be the LUCKY ONE ...by asking ,you just want some HOPE to keep going....
I read a lot of experiences from people getting into residency and those who don't ....and its still is a mistery to me ...if you have good scores...okay you will make it to the first round ..BUT you should have a GOOD CV...a GOOD personal statement ( what if i can't write one , i mean all are not blessed with the skills of writing, more so if you are a doctor, it may not be true for everyone, but i surely cannot write smiling face...and GOOD interviewing skills...you have to have it all to finally make it ...OR MAY BE NOT wink
But i am here to try ...and i wish EVERYONE GOING IN FOR 2009 match good luck ...and hope to get some wishes in return grin
Thanks for reading.

well i ll be participting in the match this year hopefully

i was one of those who was not really keen on pursuing specialization up there in the US, but took my steps along the way just to to see how it would go as my friend was dooing it at that time

step 2 = 99/249
step2cs = pass
step 1 = sat on jun 19th, awaiting results, but i think i messed up .UW score 63% only

just for those stressed out applicants
here is some consolation

i have no USCE, no LOR, no research, just 2 years work experience as an overworked doctor in a tertiary centre
i have not looked at any programs, nor got any paperwork in order.

haha, and i m wondering if i should actually take the token
any suggestions?
BTW good luck to all the applicants eh, hope all of you get thru
