You can send as many as you want. The limit is to the no of LoRs that you can assign to each program ( typically 4 or 3), not to the number of LoRs you can send to ERAS for upload.

When we send LORs to ECFMG for scanning and uploading, we have to mention which specialties we want to assign them in a DSF. I just want to know, Is it final? I mean if we mention Surgery for one LOR in a DSF, can we assign it to IM or other specialty as well in a future while applying to program? Is it really then we have to decide finally, when we mention the specialties in DSF for LORs? the same way, If I mention "All specialties", and in future I decide not to assign it to one specialty, is it allowed? My other question is, How can I assign LOR to individual program?

I dont know the answer to that but i'd love to know. From all that i know, you assign LoRs to each program separately, so you basically decide when u actually apply.. I dont see how mentioning a speciality now will affect it.. Ofc, putting in 'all specialies' does seem like a safer option 'cos they cant obviously force you to assign a particular LoR.. lets wait for someone who knows to answer.
