Dear ERAS 2009 Applicant:

Now that you have registered at MyERAS and have been issued your AAMC identification number, submit your documents according to the requirements specified at www.ecfmg.org/eras. ERAS Support Services at ECFMG requires all ERAS 2009 participants to complete an on-line Document Submission Form (DSF) each time document (s) are submitted to ERAS Support Services at ECFMG for manual scanning. The purpose of the on-line DSF is to streamline the preparation process after receiving your documents in addition to providing you with itemized tracking of your documents viewable in the "Verify Receipt of Documents" section located at ERAS Support Services at "ECFMG OASIS". Submitting documents for scanning without including the completed DSF will delay the processing of your documents. We strongly urge you to complete the DSF on-line and include it with your documents. For applicants who participated in ERAS 2008 season and will also participate in ERAS 2009 season, special instructions have been posted on the ECFMG ERAS homepage at www.ecfmg.org/eras. Please read these instructions carefully.

Due to the high volume of incoming documents, ERAS Support Services will require up to a four week lead time to process your ERAS supporting documents. Submit your documents NOW!

Also, track your documents received by ECFMG through your OASIS account. Check your OASIS account periodically. We also urge you to sign up for your free subscription of the ECFMG - ERAS electronic newsletter. We will continue to provide you with periodic updates during the ERAS 2009 season.

It is also important you read all information pertaining to the ERAS filing and application processes. Go to the AAMC - ERAS home page at http://www.aamc.org/audienceeras.htm. You must also understand the eligibility criteria to participate in the NRMP Match operated by the National Residency Matching Program. For complete information go to: http://www.nrmp.org/res_match/special_part/ind_ap.... All fees associated with these processes are found at these respective websites.

You will be able to apply to programs on September 1st. Thereafter, program directors will begin to download ERAS applications and supporting documents (LoRS, medical school transcript MSPE, photograph, etc.) for review. Once you have assigned your documents at MyERAS and have sent your application to your programs after September 1st, we will transmit those documents that have been scanned already. You can monitor the status of your ERAS application through the Applicant Document Tracking System (ADTS)found at: https://services.aamc.org/eras/adts2008/

The AAMC's publication "Roadmap to Residency: From Application to the Match and Beyond" is an excellent resource in providing medical students and graduates with an overview of the U.S. graduate medical education system. You can find this publication at: http://ecfmg22.securesites.net/eras/resources.htm...

In conclusion, it is important you understand the charge of the ECFMG Medical Education Credentials Committee in connection with any allegations reported to ECFMG regarding "irregular behavior". Some examples of "irregular behavior" is falsifying or altering any documents submitted to ECFMG or submission of falsified or altered ECFMG document to other entities or individuals. Complete details are found at http://ecfmg22.securesites.net/annc/irreg.html.

We wish you the best in all your educational endeavors!

Sincerely,
ERAS Support Services at ECFMG
