Suppose you are a hardworking IMG, already ECFMG certified, and your hopes and dreams focus all the time on getting the best position in the next match(for spots "dedicated" to IMGs , of course:family practice, internal medicine, a little neuro , a little psychiatry). Suppose also that right now, you are in doubt:get an extern/observer spot that could yield you a "drooling" American LOR or take up studying for step3 and aply this fall just with your domestic LORs? Any imput from you guys will be greatly aprreciated.I am sure that a lot of you , out there are in this disorienting boat. Let's try to clarify it a little bit , okay?

If you don't need step 3 for a visa, then do the USCE

YES!!!bbb is correct bc having USCE for IMGs like us will open more oppurtunities..More&more programs are looking for USCE..one can do his/her Step 3 during observership/externship, after the match or before&during residency..just my 2 cent
