OK lets see if you are truly ready for STEP 1
a 65 year old dude with a hx of diabetes type 2, hypertension and high cholesterol.
he has not been taking any medication and your intern prescribe him all the stuff he needs.
now the guy comes back and complaints that after starting treament beer taste very bad and pepsi or any other cocacola drink also taste bad.
What is the mechanis of action of the drug that is giving him this side effects?

are you talking about drugs tht can cause disulfiram reactions !!! i know metronidazole can do that and i think sulfonylurea does that too.
so i think its sulfonyurea and its MOA is tht they bind to K channels on beta cells of pancreas and thus increases insulin from beta cells .........

Probably he was put on a ACE (-) for his HTN------------> One of the S.E is metalic taste, this is due to the sulfhydryl moiety of the peptide that these gp of drugs possess.. If this is the cause of his dysgeusia, then this shld disappear with continued use of the drug...
