thats sooo sad.. thats our worst C.S night mare come true... that was real bad luck.. next time stay close to the center maybe.. dates do open up ..random cancellations are always there.. just keep a close tab also u can get alerts on the site..

having aniticipated something like this..tho i was staying with my friends ..the night before the exam i moved on to a hotel next door to the center.. big cities always have horrendous early morning traffic...

hey prusiner, when i was trying to postpone my date, i got one which was 12 days later.
take that dec 1 date, and then you can prepone quickly, because when you try to reschedule, they hold the dates they had showed for 10 min for you until you can complete submitting.
generally people leave the dates just 15 days before .. so keep checking,,its like visa dates.
three of my friends also easily got dates that were within one week
you may have to pay a fee maybe, but I am not sure.. I think it is 150 $ or something.

thats reassuring.. The fee is 400$ but thats the least of my worries now....... My worry is this is the peak time for CS.. not sure if i can get a date in july/august

Hi. So sorry to hear of this. Just make sure that you're ready to face the test at all times, so that when a date gets available, you're ready to jump and go.
Apart from what milee told you above, on my test day, there was this guy I was talking to who told me that he only scheduled his test that day 5 days prior. He said he was only planning to take it in the next 1-2 months, but a date opened up and he just grabbed it.
You will certainly get a date, you just have to be very sharp and smart about it.

even i failed in CIS
got result on 18th
want to take exam in july end or aug
but no date is moving
cud not find a date from last 3 days
i hav been trying continuously ...even subscribed to email notification ...dint get a single email
at the most only nov end gets displayed
i hav got mid nov
anyways good luck to u n me

Actually i got an email alert today that there was a date in la for 15 july but i couldnt take it bcoz it will be one more day before i can start scheduling a date..... So hopefully a few more dates will come up i guess.. I dont mind any day any center actually( as long as its an early one)...............
Dont worry.. god willing we will all make it there.......

Sorry to hear that.
If you take the exam on Dec 1, your CS score will be out on Jan 28th. You still have enough time to participate the 2009 match as the ranking list will be sent in late Feb.

Really sorry to hear about your experience. I agree with milee and ganesha. Take the first available date and then keep an eye out for cancellations. This is only if you are desperate to match this year.
Next time stay close to the center.

Such a sad event The CS is a rather easy exam if you have no trouble in communicating and clinical data gathering. Even if you take the exam in Dec, you could probably apply this year to many programs. Best of luck in your pursuit.

Thanks Kisna.. My cousin and sis kept checking for dates continually... was lucky to get hold of one.. i was ok with any center.. . so ..........i guess you need to keep trying... ask few more people to keep loookin for you... if u can be flexible about the center theres a better chance......
