Hi everyone. I have a question:

Why is GFR lower in women? I mean is there a phyisiological factor? or is it only because women are genarally smaller?

may be because in women BP is lower & capillary hydrostatic pressure is the main determinant of GFR

women have less glomeruli
(which also leads to the fact that female kidney transplants work less effectively than male ones)
