from wat i have read.....people usually use usmle world as a learning tool and than kaplan qbank as assessment.....so i would think usmle world would def be necessary and than you can get kaplan as well if u really need to

I posted this very same question at another discussion forum and I was told by a couple of regulars there that USMLEworld is more difficult, so if you use it, you'll find that the actual exam is a little bit easier. I'm still undecided on which to purchase for my prep, but based on responses and what I've read, I think I'm going to use USMLEWorld.

Kaplan updated their questions= good for them= UW is still the BEST tool to prepare and practice for the exam.

UW alone will help you Passed with higher grade than kaplan q bank alone.

My 2 cents

I have just finished Kaplan q-bank. Now I work on USMLEworld. In my opinion, the last one is more difficult, has better explanations, more pathology oriented, and help you connect basic sciences to real medicine and practice. However Kaplan q-bank has more anatomy and basic stuff questions...All american grads use Kaplan. All IMG love USMLEworld.
If you are short in time go with Kaplan. If you have at least a month go with USMLEworld.
The best solution is simple DO BOTHnod
