hi. i just failed step 2. Did kaplan review course in the phil. Studied for 5 months. Did NMS book, Qbook, Qbank. Was getting 60's -70's on the practice tests. What else can i do? Thinking of getting Crush The Boards, will it help or should i just stick with my kaplan books, NMS,etc? I've already started to study, and plan to take in July. Is it too soon? I want to take it while it's still fresh. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

why you failed? how did you feel after the exam? was it too hard for you? did you get the sense that you were going to fail? I took the step 2 on april 17 and never did all the questions that you listed. all i did was 1st aid and 1 reference book from it for each subjects such as ped, OBGYN , etc. If I fail, i would start all the stuff that you just did. LOL what a hard world!

often they say the difference between failure and success is so very thin and we fail to recognise that. i am sure you would have started appreciating that. 74% is a FAIL and 75% is a PASS! As you have told , you have done everything. do it once more. get some more solid understanding into the concepts. re-read and revise. keep asking yourself questions like what questions can be made out of these topics? once you start thinking like an examiner ,I ASSURE , that you are on your way to success! factual information is very basic, but that should be in your finger tips. what .....is DOC ? kind of questions one should not miss at all. may be this time in addition you can try usmleworld question bank and MCgraw-hill question bank too. the more questions you do , the better. it is obvious that it is not IMPOSSIBLE to pass this exam. somany have passed and so many have scored 99. so verymuch passable exam. cheerup , pullup your socks , and open your books again(if not already) and keep doing it all over again. WE ARE ALL WITH YOU! all the very best in all your future endeavours!!!

For any question that confuses me, I choose the most familiar item in the choices.

when i was taking the test, i really had a hard time. It was if all my practice tests were useless. But i guess the tests sometimes do give false comfort.. thanks. i guess you're right. Just have to really internalize the concepts...again. There must be hope. but still want to know if i should still get Crush The Boards? is it really as good as they say? Will it make a difference from the books i already have. thanks for the nice words.

Just get the book, it's great and go through it straight. But most important thing is to revise the books your mentioned which you have already studied. Lastly do not forget to mark & revise the questions which you find unfamiliar & difficult. May God bless you.

thanks. I got the book already. I also registered on the usmeleasy.com (by mcgraw-hill) free question bank. It's free till may 31st. So if anyone wants to sign up, i suggest you do asap. I think the question stems are shorter than the actual though, but MCQs are still MCQs. God bless everyone!
