thanx niltan..!!! this is from the ERAS guide

USMLE Transcript
Sending your USMLE/NBME transcript to programs is a four-step process:
1. Enter your USMLE ID in your Profile.
2. Authorize the release of your transcript in the Documents section.
3. Decide if you want automatic retransmission of your transcript when additional USMLE results become available in the Documents section.
4. Assign the transcript to a program in the Documents section.
To access the USMLE release agreement, click on USMLE/NBME Results in the Documents section. Carefully read the entire page before making your decision. You must authorize the release of your USMLE/NBME transcript before you can assign it to any programs.
Note: Be very careful when selecting the automatic retransmission option – it cannot be changed. Once you select this option, it is permanent. By selecting this option, you forego the right to see any newly included examination results before your transcript is sent to programs. If you are unsure, do not select automatic retransmission. You may resend your updated transcript later by going to the Documents section and choosing the Retransmit USMLE Transcript option, at no extra cost.
USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, Step 2 CS and Step 3 scores are reported as part of a complete USMLE transcript.
Your USMLE transcript includes the following:
􀂃 Your name and other personal identification information including your date of birth;
􀂃 Your complete results history of all Steps and Step Components that you took;
􀂃 Your history of any examinations for which no results were reported;
􀂃 Indication of whether you have previously taken the former NBME Parts I, II, or III, Federation Licensing Examination (FLEX), or ECFMG Clinical Skills Assessment (CSA);
􀂃 Annotation(s) if you were provided with test accommodations;
􀂃 Annotation(s) and information documenting classification of any scores as indeterminate;
􀂃 Annotation(s) of any irregular behavior. If applicable, documentation regarding the irregular behavior will be sent by mail to programs; and
􀂃 Notation(s) of any actions taken against you by medical licensing authorities or other credentialing entities that have been reported to the Federation of State Medical Board (FSMB) Action Databank. If applicable, the FSMB Board Action Report will be sent by mail.
Note: Graphical performance profiles that are included on your original Step 1, Step 2 CK, Step 2CS (failing examinees only), and Step 3 score reports, are not included in your USMLE transcript.
Notice of prior NBME Part history:
􀂃 If you passed a combination of NBME Parts and USMLE Steps, your USMLE transcript will be sent electronically, and a message will appear stating that NBME Part scores will be sent by mail.
􀂃 If you passed NBME Parts only, an electronic message will be sent to all programs you selected indicating that your NBME Part scores will be sent by mail.

ganesha ...... i am planning on taking CK at the end of Aug. Does that put me a bit of back-step for getting IV? When do the programs really start reviewing the applications?

  #47

i hope u r still gonna apply on sep 1..with or without C.K score coz the rush of applications is gonna be terrible...some programs ABSOLUTELY require complete certification..(chek it out on program site thru Frieda) The rest take time to review the complete application and accept scores as they come...make that list and apply there on sep 1 ...PRIORITY..nod

Most programs start review mid sept,but it really depends on the number of good applications they recieve..they might be saturated even earlier...

tho its a chance u need to take...applying on sep 1 is the best way to go...
even better if u cud take c.k a lil earlier (but not at the cost of ur score)

Make that program list and apply accordingly..!! all the best smiling face

considering there are a lot of candidates all certified and even with step 3 in hand.. u can imagine it might affect ut application a lil.. but programs who are really looking at ur credentials and liking it might still call u even with a missing score.. nod

Hi ladies and guys!

I am in the same boat as you. Applying to neurology this year with IM as a backup.
Have many pluses and a great minus!

Pluses.
1. Perfect Step1 and Step2CK scores.
2. PhD in Neuroscience
3. 5 years of postdoctoral experience in neuroscience
4. Many publication including in top neuroscience journals (j. neurosci). Actually reviewing papers for a couple of nuero journals.
5. Little USCE in IM.
6. Will have 3 US LORs, only one from MD, two from PhDs

Minuses.
1. Have not practiced medicine since 1996
2. Screwed CS quite a bit. waiting for the score.

Good luck to everybody. Let;s do it!!! :grin

Good luck everybody

  #52

Ganesha ..... for the LOR- DSF did you select all specialities/mentioned which specialities to apply/left it blank

  #53

i think its better to assign letters if u have from different fields.. i have an array of specilities...both in the lOR s and my application..so i think i will assign specifically... but its again individual.. if u are applying only to neuro..i think u can assign all nod

didnt do it yet..still waiting on a couple of letters..will send all together...

How is ur CK prep coming along niltan..?? all the best..

@nikotosina.. hope to c u around more.. smiling face

I am still confused about the assignments as I have 2 Phds and 1 MD writing for me and that's it and on top of it I have left that field blank......

guess what the NBME is introducing new test software in mid Aug due to which the score reporting will take 6-8 weeks. I will get my result most probably mid-late Oct....... thats devastating news!!!

  #55

yeah i did read about that couple of hours back .....dats crazy..!!! what will you do now..will you be taking the test before mid august..??

ganesha.....
I have found my back-up finally.....its going to be Path......any info on how tough it is to get into it?

need some advice on how to pace studying during last month.......i have already completed the UW which was almost 4 mnths back since I had to take a break inbetween for the CS and thought it to be better to be done with UW and make some notes for prep. Do you think it is a good idea to work on any questions regulary during the last mnth and if yes what would be better since I have already used up UW?

  #60

Count me in. Am 2007 grad, 1 year in to MPH at a reputed Uni. Research exp in Medicine and USLORs. 1 pub as 2nd author, which should be hopefully out by oct. Would be starting USCE this August at the same uni in Dept of Medicine. Scores OK but not high rise [88/93]. Already certified. Going for IM and Neuro both, because I am interested in Cards and Neuro since med school. Since we have to apply for Neuro separately here, I'll also have to take tough decision on where to apply for prelim and where for cat IM.

My basic concept is Cardio or Neuro as a post specialty since I plan to go back after studies and primary purpose to come to US was a fellowship. Now I very well know what the competition in cards is and that I am never gonna match in to Cards if I went to a community program. If I match where I have done research/will be doing USCE [ Big shot uni in south], I have decent chances of matching Cards, but If I can't get decent uni IM ivs , chances of which are more since I am not a member of 99/99 club, I'll certainly rank neuro programs higher on my ROL.

Keep the thread alive!
