IS it necessary to request the ECFMG for the USMLE transcript at the time of applying to the ERAS .Is that compulsary?

Also I understand that I must enclose 1 (ONE) Document submission form with my MSPE,Transcript and the LOR'S .Pls correct me if I'm wrong.Thanks.

when u apply through ERAS u are given the option of automatic transmission of ur USMLE transcripts to programs u select...if u opt for that then all programs u choose get all ur transcripts (say u take step 3 much later, then when ur results come out, the program gets the resutls same time as u do, irrespective of what ur score or result is) ..if u choose not to do so then u have to separately assign the transcripts to selected programs (as most programs have this as a mandatory part of applicaiton u will have to do it). anyways u pay a certain fees to ERAS and its done...i do it after getting ur ERAS account not separately before hand through ECFMG
yes one submission document is enough (u can include one more form if u need to fill in more LOR names etc

ok..wat if one gives step3 lately in october or so and finds outthat scores are low/failed...can we hide it from the pds?or we need to inform them?

that of course is the catch....u cant hide results from ur PD forever but say u just dont want them to know till u get the interview call...then if u have assigned automatic delivery of transcripts in ERAS u have no way of preventing them from knowing this...if u opt out of that u can choose....

so is it better that we dont click the option to release all scores, like we do the individual one that you mentioned to each program? bc say im taking step 3 in august, and i find out i passed, i mean can i change it to release all scores or once i've selected i want to individiually release it, i have to do it that way thruought the match season??

nope.. once chosen it remains same for entire match season u cant change it...i chose the automatic transmission...it is more convenient, i didnt think I'd fail and was more concerned with my programs being updates ASAP

Ok so if we chose not to automatically update then we have to sit and transmit the result to all the programs on our own.Is this a very big job
I mean to do it individually for say 100 programs

yah that's what mukho said,that if we select not to automatically do it, we will have to send it with each application individually irregardless of ohw many programs, so whenever u apply to the program, u have to select to send your transcript with each program applied

I requested my current USMLE transcript to be released via ERAS. On My ERAS it shows thatI indeed did request the USMLE transcrip release,...however it says tghat no request for USMLE transcript has been made on my OASIS....and its been a week now....so I'm a bit confused about this.....

actually its been 4 days......the borromline is thatMy ERAS says I have requested a transcript while OASIS says I never made a request......

i dont think ur usmle transcript release request on eras shows up on oasis...they are just not linked...so u are same as everyone else and need not worry....but lets see if anyones got updated just in case
