I'm really sorry..... I have not taken my Step 1 yet, so I can't really give you any advice. But I do feel your pain I'd say if you really want to be a doctor, than don't give up. But if you could find a job that you like and can make good money, think about it!!! Sorry if my post wasn't helpful ..... Just don't punish yourself now!!!! The most important thing that you are alive and healthy and you have a long future ahead! GL

hey gladiator,i m very sorry ,i can understand what u must be going thru, but pls dont give up,the fact dat u have failed twice can be compensated if u get an exceptionally high score,i donno anybody personally with dis experience but i know ppl who have failed twice n got a 99 in the 3 rd attempt,GL,NEVER EVER QUIT,KEEP fighting, but make sure dis attempt takes u 2 heights, try 2 analyse what went wrong ,try 2 rectify, learn concepts thoroughly,do as many questions as possible, predict ur scores with nbme n give the test only when u r scoring high in nbme forms, dont think abt the past, think dat u r given another chance 2 improve ur score 2 higher ones,GL

Hi Gladiator, They don't care how many times someone has failed but they do care if one is a quitter or fighter...they do care if one really loves medicine and has a willing spirit to care and learn...they want someone with a strong personality despite difficulties... So ask yourself...do u really want to be a Dr. in USA??...Do u have a desire to succeed?... It is not impossible...I believe ANYONE, no matter what, can pass these tests and get a residency in US...again no matter what...even if u r in yr 40sss...even if u hv failed before...u can pass and get a place...just have to know the way...can not do this blindly...MUST thrive for success...must do all d research on how to get there...can not do this alone and only by studying...that's why we are here... Getting a residency doesnt depend on only scores...It is the whole package...first find out if u want to do this or not...then if yr answer is yes...focus on one exam...come here and we all will help you...then when done wt the tests...u have to do some research/electives/etc...for 6 months only...then u have to find some connections as well...again can get help then as well.. MAKE YOUR CHOICES WISELY!!

i also failed, i used to have another name on here, i feel so embarassed to use that name, so i am using this annoymous name now. anyway, I really like what BeKind wrote here:"But if you could find a job that you like and can make good money, think about it!!! Just don't punish yourself now!!!! The most important thing that you are alive and healthy and you have a long future ahead!" that is true, for us who failed this exam, are we punishing ourselves trying to pursue an impossible dream, or are we only a few steps close? is it really time for us to get on, and forget about this whole thing, i don't know.

SInce I have failed twice now I feel in my heart I can beat this somehow, I think after 3rd time though I may give UP? but I will not yet. I do not know if 3 months is enough study after this? I want to take it late Oct or early Nov now. I'm on UW and will take NBME exams again, Redoing Biochem by RR (Gojan) a chapter a day so I will be through by the end of the month. I was weak in biochem mostly and some pharm 69 and 71 are really close, (Closer then me) I would not give up but do the NBME like posted, get better then 450 and you should pass the real thing. I tried it this second time with a 350 on NBME not good enough it seems.
