hi if anybody could give an advice on how to sleep well the night before the exam. i've read some experience posts and none of them actually says how to do so. i have a big time problem sleeping already even though i have enough time before the exam. i tried benadryl and it makes me kinda slow the next day. so please share your experience on this. i'm afraid this problem will ruin my score!

i tried ambien and it seemed to work well, and not leave me drowsy in the morning. benadryl wasnt a good idea for me since it left me very groggy, and my mind very foggy in the morning. 5 mg of ambien put me to sleep in about 20 minutes, and if i woke up in the middle of the night i took another 5 mg. just be sure to give yourself 6 hours from the time you take it to the time u start the exam. good luck to u, and try not to become dependent on ambien to fall asleep.

i agree with starbrite, to try ambien a few weeks before the exam to see how it works, and try 5mg, and if that doesnt work, i think the recommended dosage is 10mg, but i'm not totally sure. try not to take it again until the night before the exam...also, i went to bed 2 hours earlier since it took me at times, 1-2 hrs to fall asleep. and the night before the exam, try to wear yourself out, make yourself very tired, and hopefully you will be exhausted and able to sleep well. just in case you cant sleep the night before, it might be a good idea to schedule your exam 1 to 2 weeks before your testing period ends. if you schedule it the last possible day, and you cant sleep the night before, you wont be able to reschedule. well, try to relax as much as possible, and good luck!

sandeep366, i wouldnt experiment night before the exam. try it (ambien, or whatever else) out a few weeks before the actual test - basically, give it a trial run: take it about 20 mins before your actual bed time (on an empty stomach, since food will cause slower absorption), and wake up the time u would get up the morning of the test. do your usual morning routine, coffee, breakfast, etc, and do a block of questions timed. then see how you feel. u may even want to write down how u feel exactly, so you will remember when exam day approaches. whatever you do, dont use anything new the night before the exam. i thought ambien was a good choice since it's half life is 3 hours, and it didnt make me groggy during the day. also, i gave myself about 2 hours from the time i woke up to the time the exam started to make sure i wasnt still sleepy or groggy when i started the exam. and for me it didnt cause any memory problems, but it may for others. so the best advice i can give you is to try it a few weeks before ur exam, and see how you feel. i'm a troubled sleeper and had to reschedule my exam because i woke up in the middle of the night and couldnt fall asleep again. i think the PDR says 10mg is the suggested dosage, but 5 mg may work well for you. so u could probably try both and see what works best for you. good luck, and in the mean time, try to get into a sleeping routine. hope it helps! you could also look up reviews of the drug online and see what other ppl have to say about it. but remember, there is a big difference between just being able to do a regular job during the morning after taking it, and taking an 8 hour exam. test takers need much more focus and energy than someone at work.
