I started my studying today and I'm hoping to give my exam in 2nd week of Dec. To stay focused, I just want to use the following:

1.Kaplan lecture notes for all except path which i'll be using Goljan RR.
2. FA
3. FA Cases
4. Clinical Radiology made ridiculously simple (106 pages)
5. Robbins and Cotran "Atlas of Pathology" pics with brief description of each pic
6. HY Goljan notes (36 Pages)
7. USMLE Step 1 RECALL (293 pages)
8. USMLEWORLD

do you think I can accomplish all these with the given time? how many times do I need to read Kaplan notes for 90+ target? How long do people take to complete each subject from Kaplan?

Thank you all.

I havent done step 1 yet. Scheculed for end of august. But from reading other experiences and my studying, heres my input:

1-kaplan, FA, USMLEWORLD: MUST.

2-Im planning to do also Kaplan qbank b4 usmleworld, questions help u remember.

3-Webpath,path atlas, etcc. any one with CT, MRI, Histo pics, Gross, x-rays.

4-Goljan is good for integration of subjects together, makes u understand, not just memorize.

5-I also used BRS physiology and pathology, MMRE, Lippincott Biochemistry and Pharmacology, high yield BS,Neuroanatomy, embryology, histology.

If u study everyday for at least 12 hours, u can finish everything in 3-4 months. The longer u study, the more u start forgetting(my opinion)

U need to read kaplan notes at least 3 times. I study/memorize from 1st time, and do several reviews to retain the info.... repitition repitition..........

Each subject, i guess thats subjective, and depends on background, when u graduate, etcc.

From my experience: Microbiology/immunology 7 days, Pathology 3-4 weeks. Anatomy/embryology/histology 10 days, Biochemistry/genetics/nutrition 5 days, Physiology 7-10 days, Behavioral 7 days, pharmacology(personnaly the hardest) 1 month.

Hope this helps.
