Hey guys, I've just finished UW with a cumulative score of 48% which is very low, but i was solving it along with my review, so for example when i finish a branch e.g. Bio i do a test on it, i get a score in 60s ... but after that by few days my score decreases because i forget the infos, the causative enzyme and data like that, this happened in all branches, i was doing it timed mode, 1 test in the latest branch i finished review and another random all subjects ... my final score is 48% ... I'm so worried and i don't know what to do ??? I've 1 week left, didn't do NBME yet, will be doing them today, i'm using them as learning tool not assessment, i can't do this now .... So, what is the most appropriate plan for the following few days, i really need to review all the things that i forget, i feel the urge to reread every single detail which ofcourse is impossible, so here is what i'm thinking of ... will give each branch 1 day starting tomorrow, review as the best as i can, but at the end of the day, i'll give 2 hrs for UW, doing the wrong qs, 1st test will be for the branch i just finished and the 2nd will be on all subjects or may be will focus it on Patho, physio & pharma ?? will try to get done with all NBME forms today ISA, not sure that i can, but if i couldn't i will leave the remaining to the last day together with the USMLE sample material .... SO, what do u think about this plan??? any suggestions or modifications ??? do u think i still have a chance to get a decent score ?? i can't postpone as no available dates till september .... Thanks a lot for ur time

Thanks a lot Kalyann & Kingsof2005 for ur answer .... The thing is, I'm afraid not to find dates in prometric, i just logged in and there is no available dates at all,, then if i cancelled tomorrow, i might loose the only available date and then have to pay 100$ to extend my eligibility and then who knows when will be the 1st available date, i only need 1 week more, that's all and if i stayed more than that in prep, i think my performance will decline .... U got me confused, now i don't know what to do ???? Tell i get to a decision, can any1 of u help me plan for this week ??? if i didn't postpone, then i've to do my best in this remaining week, right ?? SO, any suggestions ??? Thanks again for ur time.

Do the NBME ... note your weaknesses and concentrate on them ... I too have my exam in 10 days ... and i am going through my weak areas ... read first aid as many times as you can !! BOL

Thanks sunny & hitesh for ur answer, Actually i can't do NBME now for assessment, coz i need to review at least very fast b4 i can do it, as i forgot all about the enzymes in Bio, all about the bacterial criteria, coz i read those 3 weeks back, so probably if i started today or tomorrow, i won't be able to do NBME for assessment before next sunday i.e. just 2 days before the real exam., do u think this is wise ??? Thanks alot for taking time trying to help me, really appreciate it

If you take NBME now, you will get a better idea as to what your weak areas really are. Besides, you'll also know if you should postpone the exam to be able to get the score you want.. You still have one week to go. Better take NBME now, and try to revise ur weak areas from FA. Good luck!

Hi Mezo, My quick advice( u shld be studying now instead of reading this), would be...never risk this exam...do not go to the test without taking an nbme...call the center and ask if there is a date available... Stay calm and use every minute u hv.... read FA...FA....FA...FA....FA......NOTHING NEW....do not waste yr time looking for new things at this stage instead learn one more point... we will pray for u...

Hi Mezo! It is better to postpone your exam then to fail. When you will be done with NBME you will see where you are. I did the mistake you want to do. I took my exam and fail. Never did NMBE... was just feeling tyred of studing... and fail. Now I am on second round. Take the exam when you confident please, because if you fail you will feel miserable...much worse compare to just waiting for a available spot in Prometric. By the way, my USMLE world was 54%.

Hi Mezo, If your extension already ended, take 7-10 days to study your weak areas... If it didn't , keep studying with a block per day: a block used to take me 4 hours... Simulate the real exam with Kaplan Qbook once or twice a week, and plan to take a nbme after another complete revision to see where you stand... Pathology was a weak area for me on UW, and I got a star on both NBME form 2 and UW self assessment... avoid to neglect your assets-like I did-, but I did overstudy pathology, and thank god it was overrepresented in my exam... I was good in behavioral and restudied it well, I had 5 qs per block on my first 4 or 5 blocks...
