For now I am done with CK. Went this morning. About the exam: I finished it in 6 hours and a half, it took me 40 minutes for each block and another ten to recheck the marked ones. Just like step 1 I was tired and could not wait to finish. First 5 blocks were OK, last 3 I was exhausted. The questions were mostly next step but a few straight ones as well. I had 2 murmurs to listen to. For the long questions it's better to look at the options, this will help eliminate a lot of stuff.

Don't worry about murmurs, the question is enough for the diagnosis.

The questions were not that hard, but you have to be very careful in eliminating a lot of information that is in the stem. I had just a few EKG, one of them was MI but the option was saying something like "decrease coronary blood flow" or something like that. Most of my questions were IM and Pediatrics, then some OBGYN - basic stuff, a couple of statics, and just a few psych and some surgery - also basic stuff. Of course I had some step 1 kind of questions: pathology and MA of drugs. A drug is ototoxic by what mechanism. Overall, the exam was OK, but again you have to be rested, I made a lot of mistakes because I only slept 2 hrs.

UW has very small questions like NBME forms, no long stem like in Kaplan bank. What about the real exam? Are you saying there are long stem questions? It takes me a long time just to read all big q like Kaplan's before even thinking about the answer.

I read Kaplan, Crush and Boards, but mostly Kaplan, except Psych for which I used Blueprints. And yes there are some long stem questions and for those for me worked to read the choices first because then I knew what they were looking for, for example a 67 yoman, comes with cough for 2 weeks, he takes medicine for DM, HT, CHF, at the examination the heart sound are normal, there is a murmur and a lot of other signs and symptoms, you would think they are going to ask something about heart failure but the question is why is the cough, so it's drug side effect.
