When you are pescribing statin drugs to the patient you have to be very careful with patients that has one of the following conditions ?
a) SLE
b) renal disfunction
c) DM
d) stroke

d?

Tiff, would you please explain why in stroke pt? I was thinking in renal dis. pt because if rabdomyolysis, or SLE because statin drugs can cause SLE like syndrome and evern worse the present symptoms in this condition? Thanks for respodning!

Actually I think my answer is wrong. After thinking about it, I believe statins are used for stroke patients. My first thought was renal dysfuction, but i couldn't fully rationalize it. Have to look this up.

Am now going with A - SLE because of possible liver damage. Statins can cause hepatotoxicity.

I 'd go with SLE as well. May be 'cos of the potential hepatotoxicity, (*like tiff said).. But, the other 3 options dont seem right anyways...
