a baby is born with an inherited AR trait in which there is delay in the development, resulting in the occurence of seizures & mental retardiation. the child was diagnosed as (PKU). the likely neurachemical locusof this genetic defectis a.tyrosine b.tryptophan c.tryptophan hydroxylase d.dopamine e.phenylalanine hydroxylase

The answer is e.Phenylalnine hydroxylase. PKU is caused due to deficiency of pheylaninine hydroxylase which converts aa Phenylalanine to amino acid Tyrosine. SInce they are asking the locus here I thought they are asking the enzyme responsible for PKU so Tyrosine will not be right.
