seems to be aplastic crisis

c ... what was the hint to aplastic crisis? was it the low hematocrit and the joint pains in sickel cell pt? if it is so then aplastic crisis c is right. A is thalasemia, B is vwb dz, D is Hiv, E is for intra peritonial bleed.

I mean low Hct in SC patients means either hemolysis or aplastic crisis which we can differentiate between by measurement of reticulocyte count .High in the first & low in the second .

Perhap he had Erythema Infectiosum (Parvovirus B19), and leading to aplastic crisis. The condition presents often in children, don't know whether 18 years old is prone to get it or not, I guess possible.
