Adhesion plaques are b/w epitelial cells...so I don't think the A is correct. I don't know the answer. I think, this is z-line and then there is actin-desmin bonds...I will go with the last choice... but again have no idea.

if its a Z line than wont it be an I band near it.. which has only actin filaments .. but there is no such option strange question i hope they dont repeat this one on the real exam ...

its a slide of cardiac muscle cells......so, Gap junctions........ i guess!!!!

Its not gap junctions its definitely fascia adherents and desmosomes which correlates to A) Here's why: Its definitely cardiac muscle and the arrows are pointing to intercalated disks. There are two portions of the disk, a longitudinal and a transverse portion. Due to the orientation of the tissue it looks like it is pointing to the transverse portion of the junction as opposed to the longitudinal portion. In the transverse portion there are fascia adherents and desmosomes to keep the tissue together. The gap junctions occur ONLY at longitudinal portions. Check out Kierszenbaum's Cell Biology and Histology: An Introduction to Pathology.
