RITHU,expectant mother with 17 weeks pregnancy has come for evaluation. physical examinaton revealed HB 12G/dL ,HR:103/mt,BP 130/90 mm of Hg, and temperature 98.6 F. She gives the histrory of diabetes for which she is taking oral hypoglycemic drugs and it is in good controll. what is the most appropriate method of investigation to find out malformations in foetus?
a.ultrasound
b.MS-AFP
C.FOETAL ECHO
D.chorinoic villous bipsy

Oral Hypoglycemic agents are contra in pregnancy,So they have to be stopped and started on Insulijn.Any way I think MS AFP is the choice .Please correct me if wrong.

kodu is right.....triple marker screening at 15-20 weeks would be appropriate

never give oral hypoglycemics in preg.

(1) diet and lifestyle mod 1st
(2) insulin, insulin, insulin
