Hi,
can anybody give me advice how long the actual work on my ERAS application will take me?
Is it doable in a couple of days or do I need to take off July through August?
How did you do it?
Any tipps what I can/must do before getting the ERAS token?
Thank you all!

well , ERAS tokens become available end of June, just watch the ECFMG website.

1. Once you have a token(takes a couple of days), you can register with AAMC and get an

2. AAMC ID - this is the ID you would use to

3. open a MyERAS account (takes couple of minutes). Once you have set up everything , you can start sending all the information/papers you have to the ERAS post office - med school transcript, MSPE, LORs( either you send them yourself and do not waive your right to see them, or your LOR writers send them directly and you can waive your right to see them)- document submission forms and cover sheets are available online- either at ECFMG or MyERAS, I don't remember. The photograph you can submit online. You can also start working on the information in the CAF (common application form) in your MyERAS account - it inclides a lot of info about personal, school history, visa status, awards, bla-bla. Remember, do not submit it, just save it - because once submitted you can't make any changes!

The account has a check list so you can have an overview of what needs to be done.

You submit your PS (personal statement) also through MyERAS. But you can start doing it now though! Highly recommended - take your time with it, write down, revise, have several people, including native English speakers, to proof read it.

USMLE scores can be transmitted automatically with every application if you choose so. There is also an option to do it manually. They also send the ECFMG certification status.

Also, once you have your MyERAS account you can start selecting programs, so when you've completed everything- submitted documents, photo, completed CAF, PS, on Sep 1 you can just click 2 buttons and apply to all the programs you want!

All in all - document sending, writing PS, completing CAF, selecting programs - it is a continuous process! You can't get it all done in one day. But it's not time consuming either, it just takes several steps to finish.

I hope this answers most of your questions. smiling face

not aproblem guyswink

one more thing: it's been an ordeal for many of us each year to get the LORs done on time. It is a subject of discussion whether or not you should waive your right to see the letters. I personally waived my right to see them and many say this is an advantage since the PDs will know the LOR writers were not biased by the fact that you'll see the letter. But whatever you decide make sure to contact your LOR writers timely!!! They are usually busy people so don't give them notice just 1-2 weeks in advance. Do it even now! It will reduce your stress level tremendously.

Good luck!
