I want to know,is one attempt on CS is gonna lower my chances to get residency interview?I have step-1 score 85 on 2nd attempt and CK is due in august.I am sure i will pass CK on 1st attempt with good score.I also have some clinical exp.(observership).

If the criteria of a program is "pass all the tests in first attempt", don't waste your money applying for it. So yes, you'll have a smaller number of possibilities, but still hundreds of programs to apply for.

Thanks Arlete for your reply.So if i apply to programs(in my case,only FM) with no restrictions on attempt,grad yrs. etc then can i obtain ivs from them?Also want to know how many programs should i apply to get sufficient ivs to Match?

Yes, if your profile fits the criteria, you have a chance to be called for ivs. I have no idea about numbers, sorry... But it depends on how much money you are willing to bet, too...

I agree with you Arlete.Do you think if i join online site Residencyplace.com,they can give me better idea of places of interest to me?or should i just rely on FREIDA,but it is time consuming and sometimes they dont give u any residency criteria on their site.So what u recommend to me.

I don't know how good these services are. I would spend time to get where I want, but that depends on your availability.
