You can buy them at Barnes and Noble, but i think Amazon might be cheap. $44.95 cost. They are good quick review and i like them. I think if finances are not a problem, it would be a good idea to buy them. They will be useful for step 3 also. I try to do 1 topic everyday and i am almost done i have cardio, hemat and gastro left. 200 cards in total. I am trying to start off with Surgery today, my transaction for Kaplan QB didn't go through so i guess i have to wait until tomorrow to start doing questions, hope to finish surgery Kaplan by tomorrow.

I found a website called passmedical exams.com and they have step 2 Q Bank for 39.99$. I like to do questions and so i went ahead and subscribed to it, i think the questions were OK for the price and its 3 months access, the only draw back is no explanations. Well, i guess thats why its cheap. But it was a quick review of Peds and OBGYN for me today by doing questions from it. Few pointers or new things i got from it were: Nelson's syndrome: Nelson's syndrome is the rapid enlargement of a pituitary adenoma that occurs after the removal of both adrenal glands. Removal of both adrenal glands, or bilateral adrenalectomy, is an operation for Cushing's Syndrome. Removal of both adrenals eliminates production of cortisol, and the lack of cortisol's negative feedback can allow any preexisting pituitary adenoma to grow unchecked. Continued growth can cause mass effects due to physical compression of brain tissue, along with increased production of adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) and melanocyte stimulating hormone (MSH). The common signs and symptoms include muscle weakness and skin hyperpigmentation due to excess MSH. Nelson's syndrome is rare because bilateral adrenalectomy is now only used in extreme circumstances. Brown's tumor: Brown tumors are tumors of bone that arise in settings of excess osteoclast activity, such as hyperparathyroidism[1], and consist of fibrous tissue, woven bone and supporting vasculature, but no matrix. They are radiolucent on x-ray. The osteoclasts consume the trabecular bone that osteoblasts lay down and this front of reparative bone deposition followed by addition resorption can expand beyond the usual contour of the bone, involving the periosteum and causing bone pain. The characteristic brown coloration results from hemosiderin deposition into the ostelytic cysts. Also characteristic of giant cell tumors of the bone. I copy pasted from Wikipedia but i guess this info will suffice for those of us who don't know or didn't know this.

Plan is to do surgery questions tomorrow and complete themw ith explanations before i move onto psychiatry. Also did emergency medicine 17 cases from FA for step 2 cases book. Everything seems familiar while reading and reviewing, I guess the key is to get the questions right. Hosz everyone else doing. Angel, i thought i saw a PM in my email but when i logged in to check it said no messages. Will keep you posted about my progress. Plan is to complete surgery and Psychiatry this week.
