Hi everyone,
I am back after a very long break from studying. I have started my prep today with Obstetrics and i applied to take the test in August. Hope to make new friends who will keep me motivated through my journey.
Everyone taking CK around that time please keep in touch, so we can motivate each other.
I am working in Research and with great difficulty convinced my boss to give me part time, i work 3 days a week and so i have 4 days to study and i need to plan study on days that i work. I am done with Step 1 and CS. Thats, my background in short. Do drop me a line of encouragement and check on me.

my exam is in june......but you will find many friends along this journey ...make a plan , study hard ....I am sure you already know the rules ....stick to your timetable....but there are always ups and downs...you will do great...and of course .....focus.

Thank you bcell for the encouragement. You are right the key is to focus. I started with obstetrics and hopefully will be done with kaplan Obs by today and hope to do questions and start the kaplan QB tomorrow.

Well took me another day to finish Obs from Kaplan but atleast i am done. Hope to do questions tomorrow and maybe step 2 highlights.

Hi all,
Didn't get much done last week because of work and other personal reasons. I was able to complete GYN from kaplan. Also i did questionfor OBS and GYN from step 2 Q & A book. Not many questions in that book but i thought they had some good ones. Also discovered that the University library i go to has access to accessmedicine website and if i create a userid i will have access to usmleeasy.com. I thought this would be good chance to do more questions. I am hoping that i can complete these questions and also do pediatrics for next week.
Week of 06/09 to 06/15..... Pediatrics. I am taking a long time this week to complete topics because i have a lot of distractions this coming week (kids B'day and cousins graduation).
Hope everyone else is accomplishing there set goals. Happy studying.

Hi all,
Good to see everyone is on track and studying seriously. I still have to get into the serious mode. I am donew ith OBGYN and working on PEds, hopefully should be done by mid next week. I found access to exam master and usmle easy at the medical library i vist and so i am concentrating on those questions for the first round of reading. Plan is to start kaplan QB with second readng and UW with third reading.
Also working on COnrad Fischers flash cards, they are a little expensive but i guess worth the money because the important points are covered. Will try to post important stuff. happy studying everyone.

update for today: Completed OBGYN 2 blocks from Q Book. Nephro and dermat flash cards by fischer and started with kaplan peds review, completed upto chapter 7. Hope to work on Q book for peds tonight.

FIshcer cards are available for physical diagnosis, pharmacology and diagnostic tests. 3 different sets. I just bought the diagnostic tests one and i like it because it tells you which is the initial best test, the most accurate test etc. I will probably get the physical diagnosis one too, because these i can review evenwhen i am at work. Still working on peds. Hope to finish q book for peds today and maybe a couple of chapters.

Hi all,
I am kind of done with peds but still have 2 blocks in q book to complete and last 3 chapters in kaplan. I will try and post important pointers from the flash cards. Please understand that if i am not able to post the flash cards, it is because i honestly do not have much time to log in and type the notes. I am a working mom with 2 kids and trying to juggle step 2. I hope you all understand. Since this is my first reading, i don't think i can do it now(posting the flash cards). Maybe when i start withmy 2 or 3 read i can try.
NExt week might not be very productive but starting July 1st, I hope to put in my 100 %.
Will keep you all posted, as of now i guess i can say donew ith OBGYN and PEDS first round.

Hi all,
Finally done with all obligations and back to serious studying. Hope to start seriously from saturday. Its surgery for the weekend and then question time. Plan to get Kaplan Q bank and work on it for the month of July and then switch to UW from August. Lets see how this goes. Switched to working part time and now its Mon, Tue, Wed. Hope to get good studying done on the rest of the days of the week. Join me guys and girls and lets encourage each other. I will be regular from now on. Its a promise. I need you all to push me and keep a tab on me, anyone taking the test end of august or in september, please lets get together and watch each others progress. Happy 4th of July.

yah end of aug and i cant study well these days im strugeling with the books and always sleepy  when ever i touch abook thats make me angery and upset 
i drink coffe fall asleep right away i dont know what to do?

hi angel and ssss thanks for stopping by. Yesterday evening i had to take the kids to go see fireworks, hope to hit books today and complete atleast half of surgery. Plan for saturday and sunday is Surgery Kaplan Book and then questions from kap QB and exam master. What are you going to start Angel from Monday? I was thinking of completing Psych Mon-Wed, as i work these days and then start with IM from Thursday.
Thats the plan for now. sss do you have a set date for august? we all go through this phase so lets motivate each other and conquer our dreams. Take care and happy studying.
