hai all....is there any one who took new test format with 48 q per block.... if yes - pls keep on posting ur experiences.... my exam is in july , i am lil bit apprehensive abt new format.

I wanna know the same as well. i think i read an experience here somewhere, and that person found a lot of questions to be very lengthy and felt short of time in a few blocks. Lets wait for more inputs.

yeah orkut step 1 community is flashed with this input from 2-3 testtakers...
but neither is gonna change the mantra for acing the exam.
Do KLN and UW welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll...
Thats the same they also got to say....
and then keep one's cool in the exam....
A few more clear inputs may make the scenario understandable.

When is this new format going to take place?
Im going to be writing my test around then as well......this just added to the stress. Also is it true that there is only going to be 48 q's per block? How does that work?
Does anyone else know anything more about this format?

it already changed dear, so no more future changes for now.. started may 15th, so anyone after that is likely to get the 48 q frmat.. they sound more like step 2 questions, with the long vignettes, but im sure the concept is still there.. they're just masking it with more garbage to sort thru in order to get the basic concept.. dont stress, if u know ur concepts, this will be cake.. or close to cake, hehehe... good luck!

 @hottie99 i think there is no more a cake walk kinda stuff in step 1..........its definitely a tough fight ,,,,but the test taker shud keep his/her kool all the way.......

well i mean i dont think they intentionally make it so no one passes.. there's still the easy type questions on there, this exam is for second year med students.. the same concept was behind adding those video clips, if u've had them (as i did for step 2) they aren't easy, one should wish they had like 10, bc the clips are there to make u think that u need the info in video to answer questions, which is rare.. as for murmurs, normally they want to see can u hear the 'lub dub' and it's normal... i have not taken this exam in this new style, so yes i dont know for sure, but they do mix it up every now and then.. maybe the curriculum amongst american schools changes up so they modify the exam as well.. that's not a ploy to screw fmg's, i think they'r trying to keep up with watever their teaching in their classrooms 
just focus on basic concepts and if one can recognize that, the answer should be available.. no doubt that theirs going to be those q's that eveyrone is like 'wtf?' but fret not, we all are saying that (as lakshya would warn me as i was freaking out, hehee) good luck everyone!!
