Not impossible at all. I know a person that matched in categorical surgery on first try with one attempt in step 1... if you make up for it with cv and great scores afterwards everything is possible!

It is very possible. Ofcos u won't get into Harvard.
You have to go to the websites of Internal Medicine Programs that u are interested in and check out their requirements. If you don't fail in Step 2 again, don't let anybody to tell u that it is imposible

i am in similar situation. cleared step 1 with 99 in second attempt,step2 95 in first atmpt. lets see what do we get.very skeptical.we can just pray for each other and for ourselves

hey kojol....
u r right....we can pray....but...i have to give step 1 2nd attempt next month....lootaa hard work on my side....just gave step 1 few months back...and failed...was very depressed...as never faced this situation....again started prep for last months...i hope i can do much much better for step 1 in these 3 months.....
but will prey for u....and ofcourse for my self...

I wonder who is this guy who got cat surg first try with attempts! This is i think the third time i see his citation. Is he an IMG? Surg aren't really that competitve for AMGs. They apply for GS as a backup to major specialties [read ENT,Plast etc]. I am also applying this year with moderate scores and a MPH. Only to cat spots just as a gamble! These sort of stories inspire, at least gambling
